WhatsApp Tests Instagram-Similar Text Editing Feature

WhatsApp is stepping up its game by testing a new feature that was previously available on Instagram – text editing. This feature will enable users to edit images, videos, and GIFs using new tools and fonts, making it easier for them to customize their content.

Limited to a small number of users in the new beta version 2.23.3.4, this feature has been disclosed by WABetaInfo. With this new feature, users can easily switch between fonts by tapping on one of the font options displayed above the keyboard, which is similar to how other social media platforms work.

Although users were already able to change text fonts before, WhatsApp now makes it easier for them to quickly select the desired font, and they can also align the text left, center or right, for better formatting control.

Furthermore, WhatsApp also allows users to change the background color of the text, making it easier to highlight important text from others.

Beta testers, such as Calistoga, Courier Prime, Damion, Exo 2, and Morning Breeze, have access to the new fonts. However, it is still unknown when this feature will be available for all users, as some features have been in beta testing for months.

Despite that, it is hoped that the feature will be implemented soon in the stable version so that WhatsApp can finally catch up with its competitors.
